1D-SDSWCC is a set of easy-to-use unsaturated soil test device, used for the study of stress-related soil-water characteristic curve and hysteresis, it is a tool to study the physical relationship between soil and water under certain pressure. The stress-related soil-water characteristic curve refers to the relationship between the matrix suction (the difference between the pore gas pressure and pore water pressure in the soil) and the water content or saturation under a certain stress state. The stress-related soil -water characteristic curve is an important basic property of unsaturated soil, which characterizes the water-holding capacity of the soil under certain stress conditions and different suction forces.
For any soil, the device can obtain complete dehumidification and moisture absorption soil water characteristic curves under different stress states. The pressure plate of the device is equipped with two pressure gauges and regulators of different specifications to improve the test accuracy in the low pressure range. The design of the device system can control the matrix suction up to 1500kPa, but the specific matrix suction control range depends on the intake value of the clay plate. Compared with the traditional soil-water characteristic curve pressure plate instrument, in addition to measuring the water volume change of the soil sample under different matrix suction, the device can also apply a one-dimensional load (which is K0 state) to the soil sample and can accurately measure the total volume of soil changes. The stress-related soil-water characteristic curve measured by this device is more accurate than the traditional soil-water characteristic curve, and is closer to the nature of the field soil.
